We are looking for a manager with experience of both creating procurement strategies and exercising leadership skills in ensuring they are adhered to. You will be confident in your ability to make demonstrable savings across the business, and keep the procurement team focused sharply on cost, quality and safety. You will proactively identify commercial opportunities, and develop an effective and efficient supplier base.

What is the Head of Procurement Responsible For?
Our client is looking for someone to fill this senior role, who understands the imperative of ensuring that orders are delivered to clients on time. This is dependent upon the efficient flow of materials, and the effective management of resource to the best commercial advantage. The Head of Procurement will undertake management reporting at Board level, and carry out the decision of the Board at departmental level.
The Skills Requirements for Head of Procurement
This full time, permanent position requires a thorough commercial understanding, and the ability to plan and forecast demand. You will have a clear understanding of the role of a manager, and be able to work effectively with employees reporting to you. Strong interpersonal skills are key to the development of the supplier base. Underpinning all you do will be an keen awareness of market intelligence and pricing.
Qualifications and Experience
We are looking for a candidate who has qualifications at A-Level and from the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS). You will have significant experience in the construction industry, preferably in the building envelope sector, and will have worked in a managerial post with a responsibility for reporting to the Board. Knowledge of the procurement of material and plant is key, as is the ability to read technical drawings.
