Our client who are specialist sub-contractor within the external facade industry are looking to recruit a Project Director based from their office in the West London region.
The Projects Director has overall responsibility for the Projects Department and delivery of all projects from Design to Project Management through to final account. They have responsibility to ensure that projects run smoothly, and have ownership of Project revenues and margin realisation improvements.
It is the responsibility to oversee major contracts and ensure that customers are serviced efficiently, and on a timely basis, in full compliance with their official documentation and that the Company’s contractual and health and safety obligations are fulfilled.
The Projects Director has responsibility for all aspects of project delivery and to ensure a professional service right through to invoicing.
The Projects Director has health and safety responsibility for site activities and responsibility for Contracts Business Recovery.
Minimum of HNC in Engineering.
Basic Electrical awareness
IOSH – ‘Leading Health & Safety at Work’.
Experience in a similar role in the construction industry or a specialist subcontractor to encompass matters of a technical and commercial nature.
Knowledge of contracts (JCT, NEC etc)
Experience of man-management is essential.
Duties and Responsibilities:
·Attendance of all major pre-contract meetings to oversee plan programmes and the installation sequences and agree contractual terms, involving the Commercial Team when necessary.
·Overall responsibility with the commercial team for all contract reviews and acceptance.
·Informing the Commercial Team and Divisional MD of any issues that may have a financial impact.
·Allocation of projects between Project Designers and Project Managers, and taking on specific larger projects to deal with personally. Ensuring that they have a full understanding of the projects they are running and providing assistance when required.
·Business partnering with sales to support pipeline conversion and quality of contracts entered.
·Attendance of all major sales handover meetings to ensure a smooth handover, focusing on the programme, key deadlines, costs and margin improvements.
·Assigning priority of all CAD requirements and drawings and overall supervision of CAD Draughtsmen through the Design Manager. Ensuring CDM compliance.
·Ultimate responsibility for ensuring fitting is carried out within budgets and timescales.
·Ensuring all projects are to best commercial advantage and the department is run in a streamlined manner.
·Ensuring Project information and revenue is discussed weekly and accurately recorded on the system with live information. Identifying site problems before they become serious issues with cost implications and assisting in resolution.
·Less contentious issues may be delegated to Project Managers but an overview and awareness of potential problems must be maintained.
·Running all progress meetings and ensuring an accurate and detailed report of the state of each project is maintained at all times.
·Managing of projects to make sure accurate monthly revenue forecast targets are reached.
·Monitoring and managing all journeys and unnecessary costs and expenses.
·Preparing Management and board reports and contribution to these meetings.
·Ensuring Safe Systems of work are adhered to at all times.
·Subcontractor approval and audit in conjunction with Contracts Managers, HSE Manager and Operations Manager.
·Travel to office in the South West region.
