Our client who are specialists within the Building Envelope sector are looking to recruit a Project Manager based in the London Region.
List of activities/duties:
Weekly – Off site
Review design Programme and track design development-comment on buildability of design and ensure CDM is
implemented for site installation
Check drawings issued for approval and construction issue prior to issue for any errors or omissions
Attend/conduct Fabrication meeting
Attend/conduct Design meeting
Ensure routine dialog with Fabrication management outside of fabrication meeting
Arrange and attend pre-starts and pre order meetings with potential suppliers, manufacturers and or sub contract installers
as required leading up to and during a project’s duration
Review and understand procurement needs /check orders for accuracy and supply chain requirements
Weekly – On site
Site visits at least 2 times per week if not based on site
Support the site management team to ensure all pressured areas are met (RAMs, Access, Labour, Material delivery)
Ensure health and safety is upheld on site and is reflected within RA’s
Site walk with SM & sub-contractor installer to record any problems, delays, requests, concerns
Track commercial development and inform QS (VO’s, Dayworks, CWC’s to client)
o Check any day works sheets also ensure dayworks are taking as long as sub-contractor suggests
o Conduct weekly planner with Site managers & PC and check against project programme and ensure labour
organised to suit activities.
o Review weekly planner against project programme and organise labour to suit activities/ Liaise with Site
Management to ensure levels are correct for costs against selected works and performance from labour is in line
with expected work costs.
o Ensure Get ready reports and areas checked on site 2-3 weeks before starting a new area.
o Check with SM that the following have been updated/carried out
o Ensure QA and ITP’s are in place and being utilised by site management both AFS and client.
o Ensure progress photos/diary/highlighted elevations are being recorded by site management and uploaded on
Hold/attend weekly progress meeting on site with SM prior to next item
Hold/attend weekly progress meeting on site with Client PM and Contractor Package Manager
Generate bi monthly progress reports
Produce Method Statements and or Risk assessments as required
Update the CTC document calculating remaining costs for all elements
Attend CTC/PRM meeting as required
Review supply chain performance
Discuss any improvements that could be made to become more efficient than the month previous.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Minimum 5 years’ experience in project management for a specialist sub-contractor installing
Curtain walling, Cladding, Windows, Doors and Glazing.
Broad technical knowledge of the above.
Good IT skills – Very experienced in the use of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project
Manage internal Company resources
Understanding of the principles of contract law and how they are applied in practical circumstances
Able to plan/programme a job, including materials and labour
Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
