Our client who work within the Curtain walling industry are looking to recruit a Technical Support Engineer.
The role is to provide technical input and solutions to project enquiries from Architects, Main Contractors, customers and Sales Team.
Responsible for the support of new products and modification of existing products for the UK market to suit both Project and Systemised solutions.
Responsible for providing Technical product support to internal and external customers
test new products into the software and deliver training courses to both internal staff and external customers.
Major activities/ key accountabilities
oTo determine project specific windloads and thermal calculations and other complex calculations as required.
oTo carry out Value Engineering activities and support on large Curtain Wall projects.
oAttend project meetings to support dealership and strategic partners
oProvide product information and capability guidance of all products and hardware to include advice on windloads and deadloads.
oAdvising on dealer details and interfaces with aluminium systems
oProvide a Technical / Software telephone helpdesk service to the dealership.
oEvaluate product concession requests accepting or rejecting as required. Also ensuring accurate records are maintained
oRequirements of the Full Product Warranty to include drawing evaluation, fabrication and installation audits.
Technical skills / Educational background
Extensive product knowledge of aluminum products and their application.
LogiKal or KawneerPro experience
Practical experience (e.g. sites, testing & dealer visits).
General industry & associated product knowledge (e.g. glass, sealants etc).
Design Methods and AutoCAD skills
Good understanding of structural considerations and application
Knowledge of industry methodology (e.g. estimating, production take-offs etc)
Experience of the following:
oMoudlings, Castings and EPDM Extrusions.
oTesting of facades.
oFabrication and assembly
oGlass and Glazing
Experience of being in a customer facing role
Degree/HNC in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, Civil, Design)
This role will be based at their Head Office in the North West, with travel required throughout the UK..
