Zac Recruitment is currently looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor who would take the lead on commercial contractual positioning and valuations. Our client is situated in the Composite Windows and Doors industry with offices across the UK. What makes the role particularly attractive is the option to be based either at the company’s head office in Cambridge, or be home based with a commitment to regular travel between the five regional centres of business in the UK, and occasionally to the parent company in Denmark for training or collaboration.
The Requirements of the Quantity Surveyor Role
The Quantity Surveyor traditionally manages all the costs related to building projects from initial valuation to final settlement. The role includes working closely with clients, with the aim of ensuring optimum value for money without compromising standards and quality. In this instance our client is looking for an experienced professional who additionally has the appropriate qualifications and experience to select, prepare and agree contracts, and lead on dispute resolution either through negotiation and/or adjudication.

This is a senior management role which requires leadership qualities. Our client is looking for a candidate who can operate proactively within the façade/fenestration/curtain walling industry; who has the ability to listen, empathise, and negotiate skilfully, and who demonstrates the ability to manage difficult situations through to conclusion without losing emotional control or bowing under pressure. This role places a premium on people-centric skills, and – as such – candidates need to be able to demonstrate their experience in communicating clearly, arbitrating over difficult decisions, and leading through example.
